To support supervisors in providing training for their apprentices, this guide explains a method called “Think-Alouds.” It explains how supervisors can narrate what they are thinking and doing as they approach various tasks to make the implicit explicit and includes several example tasks. It also includes an overview of the “I do, we do, you do” approach, which involves a gradual release of responsibility over an activity for the apprentice – from observation to collaborative work to independent execution.
